Honestly I didn’t realize this was fast food . The building is huge and deceiving , we walked in thinking it was a regular sit down restaurant only for it to be a fast food cafeteria experience . THAT WAS DIRTY mind you . So this started out on a rough note , the lady taking orders was pretty curt and dry , definitely could use some work on her customer service. The white male manager not so much , he was polite and extremely helpful when needed . So to get to the experience , All the tables hadn’t been cleaned or were in crowded space so we found the least dirty booth we could . We actually got our Lysol wipes from the car to clean the table before eating , it had crumbs and was visibly sticky . And not only that , the seats were littered with crumbs and old food . And the windows have massive cob webs . It’s clear cleaning isn’t a priority here . The condiment section was disorganized and slightly dirty , the trash full to the top and just generally not cared for . The soda section was sticky all over , pooled soda in the trays , and one of the machines was out of ice . And one of the tables is being leveled with napkins instead of being removed . Disappointing visit. I was in town for the day. Order taker was great. Everyone else was in autopilot and my food was cold. I had to ask for hot fries. My one annual Portillos visit was not a good one.

I am originally from Chicago, so I have been commuting to Sterling Heights location just for this craving for the past few years. However, I was soooo excited when they opened one close to me in Livonia and I ordered a big beef pickup order from Uber eats. I was extremely disappointed because I ordered a big beef and got even less meat than the amount that was on the regular size beef sandwiches. I this is a costly sandhwihc just to receive a table spoon of meat and I’ve never had this issue with portillos until this location and I’ve been eating portillos for almost 15 years. And I could not call to get a remedy for this inconvenience because they closed right after my pickup. This is just extremely disappointing because with this new location being so close I would have been a very frequent customer. Instead I feel as though my money was wasted due to whoever lazily made this sandwich. Mind you even a regular beef has more meat than this and this was supposed to be a BIG BEEF but it was nothing but bread.

Great experience and a great customer service, I kind of like this location compared the one in Sterling Heights. It's more closer and convenient to where I live. I love how Portillo's has that nice vintage garage feeling type atmosphere. All I ordered was the Big Italian Beef and a small fries and onion rings and I didn't think it would fill me up like that. Both the Fries and Onion Rings were fresh and crispy. For me the Italian Beef has to be big and messy with the gravy all over it and has to have the sweet peppers and the Giardiniera peppers. If not I'm doing something wrong. I'll definately be back!! Thank you to the staff!!

Gives you that old timey garage feel. Very homey/cozy. Foods a tad pricey on some stuff. One coney dog is 5.19$. The place is VERY clean and spacious,a lotta open area to sit and move around. When you walk in theres a kiosk where you can order similar to what they have at McDonalds and Taco Bell now. Theres even seating outside under a awning so you wont get wet. After entering you’ll notice a grab and go area with different merchandise and food snacks, cake, condiments, aprons, hats its pretty neat reminds me of the booth at In n’ Out. I love the vintage signs, and tins that adorn the walls, gives it a rustic homey feel. Kinda like your eating in your dads garage or something. Food took about 5 mins. Onion rings were hot and crispy to perfection and were delicious. I also got a coney dog, was a little messy but all good coneys are! My husband got a double charbroiled burger and he couldnt finish it cause it was so big! We thought it would be smaller but were a little shocked to see it as big as it was on the order screen. We also got a chocolate cake shake, and i was a little skeptical when they said theres a whole slice of cake whipped in, but on the first sip you IMMEDIATELY g
